Almost time for bed

Yeah, I wait until late at night to do these and then I say that it is almost time for bed, but no really, it is. I'm tired. We had a fun day today.

After I went and picked up the kids, we went sledding on Union Street Hill. It was fun! The kids loved it and Kim and I had fun (except for her banging her face and head while we were racing down the hill....she kicked my ass by the way)....oh yeah, and so did Ben...only after he ticked some old ladies off though. *giggle*

I like spending time with my kids like I did today. It makes me forget about all of our problems. Although our problems will be showing themselves again soon here. We'll make it through somehow though.

We played some Rockband tonight and it was a good ole' time. Decided what we were going to do for tomorrow night. I might actually have my first drink since forever ago......I haven't drank since last New Year's Eve due to being pregnant and then having to nurse, but I have plenty of "boob milk" thawing out in the fridge and formula as a back up, so he should be set. I'll stop drinking at about 12:30 -1 and then he won't wake until about 4 to take his first bottle (6 if I'm lucky...), We won't nurse again though until 12 hours or so after I've stopped drinking. I think that is a safe time frame.

Anyway, off to bed now.

Loves.

Just a Quickie

Before I head off to bed. Jason's being a fussy upstairs and I'm kind of tired anyway, so I may go snuggle with my boy.

Absolutely nothing going on today. I stayed in my jammies all day. Feeling kind of depressed lately. I hate this time of year because we always seem to be broke.

I finally finished my book that I started this summer. It's hard to find time to read when you have a newborn. They always seem to want your attention and stuff. It was Lightning Strikes by V.C. Andrews. It's the second book in one of her series that she has. I seriously love her stuff. She is like the one author that I just read her stuff over and over again. Although, that might be because she is the only author I have any books for.

I think that is what I want for my birthday. Either some good books from people or gift cards to Borders or that bookstore in the mall. I really want to start reading full force again, so if anyone has any good books to suggest, I'm all ears! Let me know.

That's another reason I'm so depressed as of late I think. Pat's birthday is next Saturday on the 5th and then mine and Summer's is on the 16th. I'm going to be 25.....I'm getting older and so are my babies. I know, it happens, but I'm not ready for it to happen yet!!

Some pictures for all you picture junkies:

Tonight having some tummy time on his new activity mat that Santa brought for him. Isn't he a doll? I swear, he melts my heart. I almost want to have another one.

Ahhhh...my oldest. He insists that Tough Guys Wear Pink. I love him. This was taken at my grandparents house on Christmas Day.

And my baby girl. Wow. I love her. I mean, look at her, what's not to love? She's always smiling.

And she means that her OLDER brother drives her bananas!

I think that wraps it up for tonight. I should maybe think about going to bed. I'm tired and want to try and get some things done around here tomorrow. Until then.

Love, Liz

Okay, so I'm no good

At keeping up on this thing on like a daily basis. By the time Jason goes down at night (right around now) I usually just feel like sitting in front of the TV, which is not good because that is when I snack (Aunt DeeDee's fudge is sitting in the fridge calling my name!).

I know some might think I'm crazy, but I'm going to put this out here anyway. Some weird, funky things have been happening in regards to my baby boy Jason. First, there is this picture (hopefully I can get it to work):

There is a big, giant digital 3 in the background on the T.V. The only problem with this is that the 3 does not belong there. On the T.V. a video game is being played, but there should not be a giant 3 in the middle of our T.V. So, that was kind of weird. I've seen the Number 23 and because of this, my mind works in weird ways and I have my theories on what the 3 means, but I'll keep it to myself. People are going to think I'm nuts enough after this post anyway.

Then there is this picture taken the day that we put our Christmas Tree up. Pat put the camera on a timer so that he could get in the picture too. He was just messing around and our other two kids are obviously not in the picture:

There's a lot of lights, orbs, stuff like that going on in this picture (yeah, I'm telling you, you all are going to think I'm nuts)

For a while after we first put up the tree, ornaments would just fall off at random, no one anywhere near the tree. Kind of weird, but one night, it caught my attention because an ornament, a glass ball to be more precise somehow made it all the way across the room to right in front of our stairs and was BROKEN into about 7 pieces. Our first instinct was that a cat did it, but after some thought, we decided it was probably impossible. I mean, a cat batting one of those balls up against a stair would not break it like that. It was shattered as though it had been dropped.

Things quieted down after that for a while. Occasionally I catch Jason looking off and laughing and cooing at something that he sees that we don't. He actually appeared to be playing a game with someone or something one day. I was just holding him as we had just got done nursing. He was looking towards the window/tree and started laughing and cooing and then buried his head into my chest. And then looked back at the same spot and did it two more times! How bizarre I thought.

And then tonight. I went to put Jason in his crib in our room and as I walk in, I notice that the angel from the top of our Christmas Tree was sitting on top of our dresser looking towards Jason's crib. His monitor was still plugged in, but was in his crib, as if it had been knocked into his crib, but there was the angel looking at his crib. The only issue with this, is that I did not take down the angel and put up in my room. Pat and both of the other kids swear that they did not do it either (yeah, I know you all think I'm nuts!). So, it's a little weird.

Now that everyone thinks I'm a nut job, I'm done for the night.

The Day After

Well, the Christmas Holiday is finally over! And boy, I couldn't be happier. I love seeing my extended family, but it wears me right out. This year was especially rough. I forgot how tiring it is to lug a newborn around with you. Blah.

Anyway, it was good and it made me forget about all of my problems for a little while, but now I have to face them. We are broke. Flat broke since Pat lost his job over two weeks ago. Something's got to give soon though right. I hate living in Maine. He had an awesome job, but because of the weather, they stopped working. Sucks for us!

My plans for this week? Basically to survive. Hehehehe. I want to look into doing some digital scrapbooking, although I don't know how well I will keep up on all of that.

I also need to seriously start working on losing this baby fat!!! I'm done having babies, so it's time for the baby fat to go!!!

I think that is all for now!

Look over your gratitude list (see JWP 1) and finish this sentence. This list surprises me because _________.

This list doesn't surprise me. I mean, why would it? I would have to be extremely cold hearted to not be grateful and extremely thankful for my family. I mean, I love my babies.

Although, I guess not everyone feels the same. I mean, obviously the woman who threw her 2 and a half HOUR old baby into the dumpster obviously isn't thankful for her baby. I suppose she could have been young and scared, but that is no reason to throw a child away. The child deserves a fighting chance. The child did nothing wrong. Some people make me so sick. I mean, take the child to the fire station or something. Don't throw them away.

So, those are my thoughts on that for the day. There isn't much going on around my house. We are just getting ready for the extremely busy next couple of days. The kids have a holiday party on Friday, fire station stuff on Saturday, my grandmother's on Sunday, Pat's dad's on Monday, and then our stuff and my grandparent's house on Tuesday. Busy stuff.

December 19, 2007

Nothing much going on right now. I found out the other day that I will have to go in for surgery on January 17. They will be removing my gall bladder. Fun stuff. So long as it rids me of my pains, I will deal with it.

So, since my life isn't overly exciting and sometimes I don't know what to write about, I decided to look up and start using some writing prompts for this place. Maybe it will get me thinking and....stuff.

Try to think of small things that you are normally not aware of in your life. Take a look around the room you are in and finish this sentence:I am grateful for_________.Do this for about five to ten minutes.

In this room with me right now, is my family. And that is the biggest thing I am grateful for. I'm so in love with my children. My oldest son is at that sassy mouth stage, but usually he's just trying to be funny, not rude. I'm grateful he's just trying to be a comedian and not a jerk.

My middle child and only daughter, Summer. Very appropriately named. She was born in the middle of a snowstorm, but she brightens my day. Both her Pre-K teacher and her Kindergarten teacher constantly tell me that if she ever came to school not smiling, it would break their hearts. Always smiling, always happy. Even when she is in trouble, it doesn't last for long.

My youngest child Jason. Beautiful and perfect in every way. Loves to snuggle, loves to play and one of the three best babies I have ever met. He is my last child, so it makes me sad to see him growing so quickly. For him and all of my kids, I am extremely grateful.

Yeah, I'm grateful for my husband as well. He makes me mad sometimes though. He doesn't see the big picture sometimes. I wish he would be more worried about the serious things in life. But, he has said so himself many times that he takes nothing in life seriously.

I am grateful for our home as well. I mean, it's nothing great, but it is a roof over our heads. Do I wish we had a home that we owned that was much nicer? Yeah, obviously. But, I'm just glad for now that my family and I don't live on the streets.

So, I think that about wraps it up for today. Feel free to leave comments if you want.

My First Blog

So, this is the first blog I have posted like this. I mean, I have posted blogs on myspace before, but this is one that I am really hoping to keep up on. Myspace takes forever to load and I just kind of hate it.

So, my name is Elizabeth Davis, f/k/a Elizabeth Perkins. I was born in San Diego, California, raised in Seattle, Washington until I was 12. It was at that point that I moved with my mother to Bangor, Maine. My father followed shortly there after.

I'm now 24 years old, married to Patrick and have three beautiful kids. Michael, age 9 (yes, I was young), Summer, age 5 and Jason, age 3 months. I'm a stay at home mom who volunteers as a Cub Scout Leader and Daisy Scout Leader. I also sell Avon to make a little extra money. My life is not always exciting, but it is my life, so welcome to it.
