Progress

First week of school and things have gone well for the kids.

I'm making some headway on my 101 project.

Water and occasionally milk are all I have been drinking as of lately because I am trying to keep up with my calcium.

If I forget my bags, I buy new ones. It's that simple

I'm almost done with Little Women

The Start of 101 in 1001

September 1 is the first day of my 101 in 1001 challenge. My AbLounger was brought upstairs today (although against my will), so this should prompt me to use it (as I am about to anyway!).

My plan is to go to the gym Tuesdays and Thursdays, do my AbLounger Monday and Wednesday and alternate my workout videos for Fridays. Hopefully, I can keep to that.

October will be my first of three months to take a walk everyday for the month.

September will start my 30 consecutive days of no eating out and cleaning the bathroom once a week (which I just did!!!).

October will also be my first month to stay of the computer during the weekends.

I'm more then halfway through my first novel! It's really good! I forgot my bag when I went shopping today, but all I got was a dustpan (I broke mine! OOps) and a can of Fly killer so I just carried it out. Been drinking plenty of water as well. I did have milk this morning with my breakfast, but it was within my points, so it's okay ;)

Oh and did I mention that the kids start school tomorrow!! Hooray!!

Also on that note though, only 9 days until my baby boy turns one!!! Sad day!!

August 26, 2008

7 DAYS! Yup. Just 7 DAYS until the kids start back to school! I can't wait! Hehehe.

My grandfather is still in the hospital. Not my place to publicly announce exactly what is going on, but it's not good in any event, so if anyone actually reads these, some prayers would be nice.

So, I did some more organizing today. I worked on the laundry room again and re-organized that. I'm not kidding myself. I know I will have to organize these rooms more then once. When you have three kids and a husband, things don't stay organized the way they should..

Been doing some more preparing for the start of my 101 in 1001 Challenge. I actually fully completed one of my goals today and that was to get a library card! #40 is CHECKED off my list! Woohoo!

Along with that, I began on #42 which was to Read 10 Novels Off The "Classics" List

I have started reading Little Women, but it is hard to concentrate with Pat yelling at the XBOX. Perhaps during the day tomorrow will be more productive for me =]

#9 Make Blankets For Christmas For Each Family

Yeah, yeah, so some of you will know what you are getting for Christmas, but it may not be THIS Christmas when you get it! Ha. I have some plans and I am hoping to get yarn this week and start on one of the blankets!

So, for now, good-night

It's Been A Few Days

Well, it's been a while since I checked in. Been busy contemplating things. Wednesday night I got a phone call from my cousin Michelle. Now, I love her, but it's true that she rarely calls me unless it is important ~ but I digress. I was smack in the middle of watching The Bucket List when she called to tell me that our grandfather was in the hospital that evening. Let me tell you, it was rough while she was talking to me, but I made it through and he is still in the hospital. And it sounds like they aren't sure when he will be home =[

The Bucket List was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. by the way. Made me cry.

I've been trying to get a jump start on my 101 in 1001 list. Cleaned the junk out of my bathroom this morning and I'm considering doing a go through around my desk area as well. Right now, I'm getting ready to break out the Pack And Play from the basement and take the kids outside. I have an area of JUNK that needs to be cleaned (with some help from the kids because it is their junk mostly).

I've designated an area for my REUSABLE shopping bags to hang with a reminder note to make sure if I am going shopping to take them and use them!!

I'm getting up early tomorrow morning to hit a SALE at OLD NAVY They are having an awesome sale starting at 7am ~ all kids jeans are on sale for $7 each. I'll be there waiting.....hehehe. I've never done anything like that before, but that is too AMAZING of a deal to pass up!!

So, that's all for now! Until later!

101 In 1001

The Mission:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).

Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as New Year's resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.

Some common goal setting tips:
1. Be decisive. Know exactly what you want, why you want it, and how you plan to achieve it.

2. Stay Focussed. Any goal requires sustained focus from beginning to end. Constantly evaluate your progress.

3. Welcome Failure. Frequently, very little is learned from a venture that did not experience failure in some form. Failure presents the opportunity to learn and makes the success more worthy.

4. Write down your goals. It clarifies your thinking and reinforces your commitment.

5. Keep your goals in sight. Review them frequently, and ensure that they are always at the forefront of your thinking.
